TV Shows

This page allows you to discover what my general opinions are about each show that I watch, or have watched, and if I would high recommend you watching it, though that probably applies to a lot of them, if not all.
This list has been taken from my trakt account, so it's rather extensive. Lists are sorted alphabetically

Currently Airing

Science Fiction and Fantasy

Continuum

Continuum is a must-watch show about a group of terrorists who travel back from the year 2077 to 2012 after being sentenced to death. A lone police officer is brought back with them, and she must fight them to ensure the survival of the future...and herself.

Doctor Who

Very possibly one of the weirdest and most awesome shows you will ever come across. This show is about a several hundred year old alien who travels around with a human companion in a bigger on the inside police box to anywhere in time and space fighting villains to save the greater good.

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is very possibly one of the most diverse shows who film all around the world on a regular basis. It's fantasy genre based on numerous time zones and places make it hard to describe, but with battles, deaths and emotional scenes it is definitely a good all-rounder. Just make sure you are over 18 when watching this. It is definitely not for children!
But the fact that it's Reddit's leading TV subreddit (with /r/DoctorWho close behind) speaks for itself in terms of popularity.

Misfits

Misfits is about a group of teenagers on probation who, after a sudden lightning storm, gain super-powers. It explores how typical people would live with super-powers in a world where there doesn't need to be your traditional comic book heroes. Be warned that there are some sex scenes so don't watch in front of children and the body count is fairly high, and it's pretty damn twisted!

Red Dwarf

A fairly old but still a very much loved comedy science fiction show, that's had its heart pressed into the British people, that recently got a revival and so still has a future. It's about a human, a humanoid evolved from a cat, a hologram and a robot. In short, it's basically just a great science fiction show that's fun for all the family!

The Walking Dead

An extremely popular show that is all about....The Walking Dead. While it's unique selling point is zombies, this show has a fantastic dramatic element to it that simply makes this show not just a "kill all the zombies and get out alive!" programme.

Touch

Created by one of the creators of Heroes, Touch investigates a boy, who refuses to be touched or to speak, and his father as they learn how to deal with his super-natural gift of writing numbers that just happen to coincide with important events. This is a fairly young show, but for a show that requires the viewer to actually think, it's doing really well and as such, it is growing bolder.
Having said that, it's being broadcast on Fox and their track record of cancelling extremely popular shows sucks.

Comedy

Mock the Week

An excellent British comedy panel show that features a number of rounds where the contestants try to win the round through getting the answers correct and making the audience laugh. The last round has always been my favourite. This is one of the few shows of its kind that I would actually go out of my way to watch.

New Girl

This is one of those kinda girlish shows that I never ever expected to like, but I was looking for new shows as I was bored and decided to give this a chance. This isn't such a bad show.  It's about a weird school teacher who moves in with 3 men and their every day lives.

Not Going Out

Not Going Out is centred around a lonely unenthusiastic guy and how he deals with his life, and how he chases "the woman of his life". This is still one of the few shows that remain that are actually funny, especially from Lee's witty responses.

OutNumbered

Outnumbered is a comedy drama about a normal family and the issues the parents go through with dealing with the kids. It's pretty good but I've been going off it a bit lately.

Russell Howard's Good News

Weekly comedy stand-up show where Russell Howard takes the piss out out of the news of that weekby using pictures and clips he uses work well with the comedy, although some of the jokes are more on the mature level than the child-friendly level.

The Big Bang Theory

This comedy show revolves around a group of really nerdy people and how they live with all "the lesser mortals".

The Simpsons

If you do not know what The Simpsons is, you've been living under a rock. Having said that, it has kinda lost its touch, so it's not the sort of thing I would go out of my way to watch all of. Although the movie was excellent.
This show is the sort of thing that I would be watching on my iPhone on the bus on the way to college to kill time, as it is still quite fun and you don't need a large screen to watch it on.
